Day 1: Arrival in Colonia del Sacramento

We begin with your arrival in Colonia del Sacramento and a transfer to Restaurante Charco for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of the charming old town of Colonia del Sacramento. Visit historic buildings, old forts, and Spanish and Portuguese museums, appreciating the key tourist spots of this 17th-century city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the end of the day, transfer to your accommodation.

After breakfast, we head to Carmelo. First, visit La Calera de las Huérfanas, a small chapel now declared a national monument. Next, we’ll go to Bodega Zubizarreta to explore its facilities and learn about the process of making high-quality wines. Participate in an exclusive wine tasting of the Family Collection and Altagama wines, including the refreshing Albariño, the robust Arinarnoa, and the elegant Blend Tannat Marselan. Afterwards, we continue to Bodega Narbona, founded in 1740, where you’ll get to blend your own wine. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, we depart for Montevideo by private transfer. Upon arrival, we will take a tour of the city’s highlights. Admire the majestic Plaza Independencia and the impressive Palacio Legislativo. Immerse yourself in the Mercado Agrícola, where you will taste an authentic Uruguayan parrillada. Visit the iconic Estadio Centenario and conclude the tour with a stop at the Montevideo sign and a stroll along the charming Rambla. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will head to Bodega Juanicó, located 40 minutes north of the city, for a wine tour and a delicious lunch. The afternoon is free for relaxation or shopping. If desired, we can arrange a visit to a preferred museum. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, we set off to Punta del Este, one of South America’s most prestigious beach resorts. On the way, we’ll stop at Piriápolis, founded by the visionary Francisco Piria, and visit Cerro San Antonio for breathtaking panoramic views. Then, explore Casapueblo, the iconic work of artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. In Punta del Este, enjoy Mansa and Brava beaches, and tour its exclusive residential neighborhoods. End the day with accommodation at a charming hotel in José Ignacio.

After breakfast, we will head to Olivos de las Ánimas to learn about the process of making extra virgin olive oil. Lunch will be a typical Uruguayan dish, “Chivito.” The afternoon is free to enjoy José Ignacio, with its excellent restaurants, boutiques, and beautiful beaches. Return to the hotel.

This day offers various activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, tennis, cycling, and yoga. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional tea with yerba mate and local pastries. The day will close with a “fish barbecue” dinner at sunset on Playa Vik.

Transfer back to the Punta del Este or Montevideo airport, concluding our tour.
